Samsung is Now Making All Its Smartwatches in India; Announces New Galaxy Watch Active2 Aluminium Edition

Samsung has today announced that the company will be making all its smartwatches in India. The company made this announcement alongside announcing the newGalaxy Watch Active24G Aluminium Edition.

The new smartwatch happens to be the first smartwatch that Samsung is manufacturing in India.“The Aluminium edition of Galaxy Watch Active2 4G is our most affordable 4G watch now. It’s also the first smartwatch to be made in India. With Galaxy Watch Active2 4G, we have also started manufacturing our entire range of 18 smartwatches in India as part of ‘Make for India’ program”, said Mohandeep Singh, SVP, Samsung India.

Talking about the new Aluminium edition Galaxy Watch Active2 4G, Samsung says the Watch Active is its fastest selling watch variant till date. Now, the new watch comes in an aluminium case, with sports bands. These are available in Cloud Silver, Aqua Black, and Pink Gold variants.

The Watch Active2 4G also comes with the sametouch bezelthat we saw in the Watch Active2. This feature is now also available on the first gen Galaxy Watch Active, by the way. For fitness, the watch comes loaded with 39 different activity tracking modes. Plus, users can access video guides for workouts and more via the Samsung Health app.

As the 4G in the name suggests, the watch comes withe-SIMfunctionality. It can let you take calls, send and receive messages and more, all independent from your smartphone. That could make it a good fit for fitness enthusiasts who like to leave their phones behind when they go for a run.

The new Galaxy Watch Active2 4G Aluminium Edition is priced at Rs. 28,490. It will be available starting July 11.
